Bazland discovered a passion for playing music from a mixture of excitement brought on by the new wave of technology and a reignited love of electronic music! Hes been dj'ing to the public through his involvement in Traffic and /tek'ni:k/ in Shrewsbury which has seen him dj across Shropshire, and as far as Birmingham, Leicester and London! His passion for dj'ing is matched by complimentary passions for promoting events and running the BAZAA sound system and DJ hire company which understandably limits his focus and sometimes leaves only the occasional teknik event for his DJ output! The current Bazland DJ setup is based around the latest version of Traktor Pro used internally with NI X1's/Maschine and over HID/USB with the cdj2000 Nexus, all routed through six channels of the xone 96 dj mixer, having organically progressed from vinyl/cd's over the years. He is always experimenting with the latest software/hardware like Rolands new Aira Range to add something special to his molecular style sets.
As co-promoter of /tek'ni:k/ who bring the likes of Rudosa, KUSP, Rohar, Gary Burrows, Transcode, Justin Robertson and Skoden to town, he is trying to showcase the best British and International talent in Shrewsbury where economics allow and push a fresh underground sound to its patrons. His former promotion Traffic had previous guests that included Dave Angel, Phil Kieran, Jim Rivers, Harvey Mckay, Dubspeeka, Jon Gurd, Darren Emerson, King Unique, Dave Seaman, Quivver, Jimmy Van M, Steve Parry, Trevor Rockliffe and Rebekah. Bazland is well travelled having visited all the best techno clubs and festivals across Europe, which gives him the inspiration and desire to feed the sound of the future to the dance floor with his ever evolving techno soundscapes!
